The
Great
Texas
Birding
Classic One
of
the
states
that
conserve and prevent the birds from getting extinct
is Texas. Texas
tries
to
promote
several
festivals all year around about our feathered
friend's conservation. The Great Texas Birding Classic, as known as
GTBC is held every year between April and May.
This festival has been around for the past 16
years and is always celebrated during the spring migration. This
festival
hosts
a
tournament
with teams trying to spot the most species
of birds in
a
given
time
period.
The team with the highest species count has the
privilege of choosing the conservation projects
of their choice that will receive money that is raised in the festival.
The money raised will be used towards the bird's conservation. The
conservation projects are submitted by organizations which care about
these little creatures. The
festivals
sponsored
in
Texas
are great to show people that we need to
do something about the birds
decline in population. Each year the bird
count shows that we have lost a lot of birds. If
you
care
about
the
birds and want to do something do help them from
becoming extinct, check-out The Great Texas Birding
Classic, which is located along the Texas Coastal Region.
