Many times I have heard people saying that they hate squirrels. They love to see the squirrels get hurt. They capture squirrels using traps or cages and throw them into the water so the animals can drown.
It is unbelievable how much money some companies can make monthly because they sell lots of products to harm squirrels. People do that because they see squirrels as harmful, trouble makers, dangerous for the birds, annoying, and unpleasant guests. But they are not. As any other type of animal they want attention and food. They want to climb trees and to take care of their families.
Squirrels are cute, fun to watch, mischievous and provide a lot of laughs if you’re so inclined to enjoy them.
As was said in many articles posted by Marina Benson, squirrels can leave the birds food alone if you feed them. They will not steal any food or try to steal because they have their own food.
They like to eat seeds, (eg. sunflower seeds and safflower seeds) fruits, (eg. oranges and coconuts) nuts and corn.
Here are some benefits of having squirrels around:
1. They can prolong the human life with the happiness that squirrel watching brings.
2. Because squirrels forget where they leave some of their buried acorns a small tree sprouts up bringing new life to the world.
3. They remove bad Fungus from Trees with their Bark Stripping.
While many people try to hurt squirrels others try to save them. There are a lot of places that rescue squirrels and take care of them until they are ready to be released. One of the Rescue Centers Serving Lakeland / Central Florida since August 2007 is Mother Natures Rescue. The rescue centers are non profits organizations that run solely off money out of pocket and from donations when given.
The rescue centers mission is to provide the squirrels with medicine, food and care until they are cured and ready to be release to their natural habitat. Some squirrels are in really bad conditions when they get to the rescue centers. The rescued baby squirrels are placed in temporary foster homes, which sometimes bottle feed them and care for them until the animal is ready to return back to their natural habitat.
The rescue centers will be happy to assist you with squirrel information, finding a foster home and saving their lives. If you need to rescue or save a squirrel life, look for a rescue center near you.
Don’t hurt squirrels. Save their lives.
